I found my passion for yoga after major surgery in 2006. I have been a runner since high school, but yoga healed me in such an amazing way that I fell in love with the practice. In 2009 a very good friend of mine started a non-profit called Yoga Reaches Out and I wanted to do whatever I could to help. I am now the program coordinator and help with all aspects of the Yoga Reaches Out Yogathon which is our big yearly event. The mission of Yoga Reaches Out is to bring the yoga community together to create seva (selfless service). Through the gift of yoga, Yoga Reaches Out focuses on raising funds for organizations that impact the health, education, and well-being of children. I hope to become certified as a children's yoga instructor this year.
