Gluten is one of the most researched topics in nutrition. Why? Because many people have developed a sensitivity to this protein after experiencing stomach issues, acne, and unwanted abdominal bloating.

So what is gluten and why should you know about it?

Gluten is a protein found in barley, wheat and other grains. People are becoming more and more gluten intolerant because agricultural companies have added more protein into grains for nutritional purposes which in turn increases the gluten content. As we all know, too much of anything is never good. Our digestive systems have an issue breaking down and absorbing too much of this protein. That means undigested particles being left in our system to cause inflammation and other issues.

Common foods that contain gluten:
-Grains- wheat, Spelt, Rye
-Pasta
-Rice
-Soy
-Beer

Gluten Safe foods:
-Oats
-Quinoa
-Amaranth
-Corn
-Buckwheat

WOD 3

"Walk The Plank"

10 Min AMRAP

RX Teams- Worm 150lb, Walking Lunges 50lb/75lb


Buy In- Team will pick up the WORM and walk across a 12ft wooden beam prior to moving on to the next movement. If a team member falls off of the beam prior to all athletes crossing the entire plank they must start from the beginning and cross again.

Once Team crosses the plank successfully they will have a 30ft walking lunge with a log overhead.

Upon completion Teams will have 50 atomic sit-ups before moving onto 50 hand release pushups. After completion of pushups you will have a 30ft partner wheel barrel where each athlete holds a foot and the other athlete uses his/her two arms to get them to the 8ft wall. Once at the wall you will have 30 hand stand pushups (Kipping aloud). To close out the round all athletes must climb over the wall once they are completed with HSPU. Once round is complete athletes will begin from the last movement (wall climb) working their way backwards.
